Plagiarism Screening Policy
CHAIN: Journal of Computer Technology, Computer Engineering and Informatics is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing all forms of plagiarism and unethical publishing practices. All submitted manuscripts must comply with ethical standards regarding originality, proper citation, and responsible use of published materials.
- Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts represent entirely original work. Any use of ideas, statements, data, images, or words from other sources must be properly cited or quoted according to academic referencing standards.
- Authors should not publish the same research findings in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals is considered unethical publishing behavior and is not acceptable.
- Authors must provide appropriate acknowledgment of previous works that have contributed to the development of their research. All influential publications must be properly cited.
- All authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, and ethical compliance of their submitted manuscripts. Authors are expected to understand and comply with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening conducted by the Editorial Board before entering the peer review process. CHAIN: Journal of Computer Technology, Computer Engineering and Informatics uses Turnitin similarity checking software to identify potential plagiarism and text similarity in submitted manuscripts and final accepted articles before publication.
The journal allows a maximum similarity index of 20% for submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to authors for correction, clarification, and resubmission. The editorial team reserves the right to reject manuscripts containing excessive similarity or evidence of plagiarism.
| Level | Description | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | A small section of another publication is used without proper citation, without involving significant data, findings, or original ideas. | A warning is issued to the authors. Authors are requested to revise the manuscript, correct the citation, and properly acknowledge the original source. |
| Intermediate | A substantial portion of a manuscript is reproduced from another publication without appropriate acknowledgment or citation. | The manuscript will be rejected, and authors may be restricted from submitting new manuscripts to the journal for a period of one year. |
| Severe | A significant portion of the manuscript reproduces original results, concepts, or substantial ideas from another publication. | The manuscript will be rejected, and authors may be restricted from submitting new manuscripts to the journal for a period of five years. |
All authors listed in a manuscript are collectively responsible for the content of the submitted work. By submitting a manuscript to CHAIN: Journal of Computer Technology, Computer Engineering and Informatics, authors confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the journal's Publication Ethics and plagiarism policies.
If plagiarism or unethical publication practices are identified, all authors involved will be subject to the same corrective actions or penalties according to the severity of the violation.
