Authorship / Contributorship Criteria

Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Information (JAITI) recognizes authorship and contributorship based on substantial intellectual contributions to the research and publication process. Authorship should accurately reflect the contributions of each individual involved in the development, execution, analysis, and reporting of the work.

Authorship Criteria

An individual should generally qualify for authorship when they have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study; acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of research data; and the development or critical revision of the manuscript. Authors should also approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

Substantial Contribution
Authors should make meaningful contributions to the research conception, methodology, data acquisition, analysis, interpretation, or another substantial intellectual aspect of the study.
Manuscript Contribution
Authors should participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
Final Approval and Accountability
All authors must approve the final version and accept responsibility for ensuring that questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of the work are appropriately addressed.
Contributors Who Do Not Qualify as Authors

Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged rather than listed as authors. Such contributions may include:

  • Administrative or general supervision without substantial intellectual contribution.
  • Routine technical assistance or data collection without intellectual contribution.
  • General language editing or proofreading without substantive intellectual contribution.
  • Financial, institutional, or material support without intellectual contribution.
  • Other contributions that do not satisfy the journal's authorship criteria.
Authorship and Contributorship Procedure
1. Determination of Authorship
Authors should discuss and determine authorship and the order of authorship before manuscript submission. Authorship should be based on actual contributions rather than academic position, seniority, institutional status, or financial support.
2. Contribution Statement
Each author should provide an accurate description of their contribution to the research and manuscript. Where applicable, the journal encourages the use of the CRediT taxonomy to clearly identify individual contributions.
3. Corresponding Author Responsibility
The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the journal, ensuring that all listed authors have approved the manuscript, confirming the accuracy of author information, and coordinating responses to editorial queries.
4. Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be justified and approved by all authors. The journal may request a written explanation and confirmation from all affected authors before approving any authorship change.
5. Authorship Disputes
Authorship disputes should initially be resolved among the authors and, where appropriate, through their affiliated institution. JAITI may suspend editorial processing while a dispute is being resolved and may request institutional clarification when necessary.
Authorship Integrity

JAITI does not permit honorary, guest, gift, ghost, or coercive authorship. All listed authors must have made genuine contributions to the work and must accept responsibility for their contribution. Individuals who have contributed substantially but do not meet the authorship criteria should be recognized in the appropriate contributor or acknowledgement statement.
