Policy Overview

ITSECS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Every submitted manuscript is screened for originality using Turnitin before entering the peer-review process. Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism.

Author Responsibilities
  • Submit only original and unpublished research.
  • Properly cite and acknowledge all sources, quotations, figures, and ideas taken from other works.
  • Do not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals.
  • Avoid duplicate publication, self-plagiarism, and redundant publication.
  • Ensure all references are accurately cited in accordance with the journal guidelines.

Turnitin Similarity Check
  • All manuscripts are checked using Turnitin.
  • The maximum allowable similarity index is 20%.
  • Manuscripts exceeding 20% similarity will be returned to the authors for revision before editorial consideration.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject manuscripts containing evidence of plagiarism or unethical publication practices.
Levels of Plagiarism
Level Description Editorial Action
Minor Small portions of text are copied without significant ideas or research findings. Warning issued and manuscript returned for correction with proper citation.
Intermediate Significant parts of the manuscript are copied without proper attribution. Manuscript rejected and authors prohibited from submitting to ITSECS for 1 year.
Severe Reproduction of substantial original ideas, data, or results from another publication. Manuscript rejected and authors prohibited from submitting to ITSECS for 5 years.
Important Notice

All listed authors are jointly responsible for the originality and integrity of the submitted manuscript. Any penalties resulting from confirmed plagiarism apply equally to every author named in the manuscript.
