Publications Ethics

Ethical Statement
The Journal of Information Technology, Software Engineering and Computer Science (ITSECS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines. These principles apply to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors must present accurate, original, and honest research results without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation. Manuscripts should contain sufficient detail and references to allow replication.
Originality & Plagiarism
Submitted work must be entirely original. Proper citations must be provided for previous studies, and plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
Multiple Publication
Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to multiple journals or published more than once without appropriate disclosure.
Acknowledgement of Sources
All data sources and previous publications influencing the work must be appropriately acknowledged and cited.
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation of their work and identify all funding sources.
Corrections
Authors must promptly notify the editor if significant errors are discovered after submission or publication and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.
Duties of Editors
  • Publication Decisions: Editors decide whether manuscripts should be accepted, revised, or rejected based on originality, scientific merit, reviewer recommendations, and journal policies.
  • Peer Review: Editors ensure every manuscript undergoes a fair, objective, and confidential peer-review process using qualified reviewers.
  • Fair Play: Editorial decisions are made without discrimination regarding nationality, gender, religion, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
  • Confidentiality: Editors maintain strict confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and author information.
  • Conflict of Interest: Editors must avoid handling manuscripts where personal or professional conflicts of interest exist.
Duties of Reviewers
Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose or discuss them with others.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant literature not cited by the authors and report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical concerns to the editor.
Objectivity
Reviews should be objective, constructive, evidence-based, and intended to improve the quality of the manuscript.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline assignments where conflicts of interest exist and must never use unpublished information for personal advantage.
Promptness
Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or promptly inform the editor if additional time or replacement is required.
